It was a Saturday, quite late at night. "I had a lot on my mind, so I couldn't sleep. At that moment, a word came to mind:Trinity, Trinity, Trinity. I took a marker and wrote Trinity on a T-shirt.”
The next day, wearing his “homemade” T-shirt, Élie went to Mass. When he arrived, his friends' reaction was immediate, “Cool T-shirt. Maybe we should start a Christian clothing brand! "
From three young people in 2017, Trinité has gradually grown into a group of around thirty young people between the ages of 14 and 32. Their mission is to share the Good News through clothing, by distributing Bibles and, today, mainly through worship. Trinité is made up of young people who have encountered Christ and have encountered him so powerfully that they have only one desire. to share Him with those around them.
Faith, a Treasure to Be Seized
Élie's love for Christ and evangelism comes first and foremost from his parents. Converted two years before their marriage, the parents of Élie, Nathanaël and Noé-Marie have shown their sons a living faith. Although following a path of faith opened up by his parents, Élie remembers, “My parents really showed me faith as a treasure to be seized, a living path of faith that was mine to choose.”
So, at the age of seven, Élie chose to put his trust in God. At that age, he was struggling at school because of dyslexia and had to repeat a year. It was difficult for the young boy, but it was then that he received a promise from the Lord in his heart, “Whatever happens, I will always be with you, I will not abandon you, I love you.” Élie testifies, “I felt that I had a father in God and that I would never be alone.
A Personal Journey with Jesus
At the age of 16, Élie was confirmed in the Catholic Church at the same time as his brother Nathanaël. Shortly afterwards, the Holy Spirit manifested himself and prompted the two brothers to share their faith. They then created a youth group in their high school to respond to this call from their hearts to evangelise.
At the same time, Élie grew in his personal journey with Christ. He shared the power of his communion with Jesus during the Eucharist, “The Lord is so humble that He becomes bread and wine to remain physically within me. This touches me deeply. For me, it is the source and summit of my Christian life.”
After leaving high school, Élie began a bachelor's degree in business and entrepreneurship. After various evangelical missions through his association Trinité, Élie took two years off to devote himself to God. In 2021, he entered Jeunesse Lumière, a school of prayer and evangelisation in France. He spent his second year on mission in Mauritius with the Catholic school Stand Up Aventure, serving young people in the region and introducing them to Christ.
The Daily Mission
When he returned in 2023, Élie no longer saw himself spending his life sitting behind a desk. After much thought, he decides to follow his passion for woodworking and resume his studies as a carpenter and joiner. “I followed this path to do something that I really enjoy, that makes me feel good in my body and in my soul, and what's more, it was the profession of Christ!” Because Élie's mission begins in his daily life, he does not hesitate to bear witness to his faith at work.
“It comes quite naturally, really, just by being myself, not being afraid to talk about what I do on the weekends, to say who I am and to dare to take a stand.” Élie is well aware of his need to ‘fill his inner cup’ in order to bear witness on a daily basis.
He therefore nourishes his faith through meditation on the Bible, personal prayer and, of course, Mass, when his work allows him to attend.
