Planning a trip to Israel at this time can seem ambitious. The current situation is complex and constantly evolving. However, we hope that by April 2026, stability will have strengthened.

JC2033 is taking part in the “Pasqua Together 2025” (Easter together 2025) initiative, inviting people to mark the year when the date of Easter is common to all Christians. This is an important step toward the Jubilee of 2000 years since the resurrection of Jesus Christ is in 2033. During a visit to Jerusalem at Easter this year, I was able to meet the local players in this initiative, after walking the Emmaus Way with some fifty young people.

On the road to Emmaus from April 18th to 25th, 2025

On the way to Emmaus-Nicopolis. The third JC2033 walk on the road to Emmaus took place from 16 to 23 April 2023. 28 people aged between 20 and 75 took part, from Switzerland, Belgium, England and the Philippines. We were 8 Catholics, 8 Evangelicals and 12 Reformed.

On Easter Monday April 18, a small team - Nicole and Daniel Fatzer with Chantal and Martin Hoegger - flew from Geneva to Tel Aviv. This year, as in 2021, the pilgrimage along the Emmaus Way had to be cancelled due to the circumstances caused by the Coronavirus crisis. However, we felt it was important to visit the communities we meet along the way.

February 17th  - 19th 2020, we met several leaders of Churches and Movements in Norway to share the vision of the initiative, "Jesus Celebration 2033" (JC2033). An invitation to a pilgrimage towards 2033, the jubilee of the 2000th Anniversary of the Resurrection of Christ. Attending a meeting of the Christian Council of Churches was the peak of these intense days. 

It all started in Jerusalem, almost 2000 years ago! Two disciples of Jesus were walking on a path when He joined them. From January 25 to February 2, 2020, we were 31 people of various origins walking towards (the) Emmaus. A great experience of communion as part of, “ The Week of Prayer for Unity,” in Jerusalem! A beautiful invitation, too, to walk together with Him towards 2033!

Our voyage in the Holy Land (May 2018) brought us to meet believers of different ecclesiastic backgrounds. The idea was to encounter them in their personal settings replete with longsuffering but also joy and hope.
