8 Billion to Evangelize Asia!

From September 18 to 20, 2024, Olivier Fleury took part in the Singapore 500 meeting, a prayer movement that aims to reach 4.8 billion people with the Gospel by 2033.

A look back at an atypical meeting

On the initiative of several highly influential businessmen from Singapore and the United States, a movement was set in motion. In the Changi Cove Hotel and Conference Center, built by a former Christian federal judge from Singapore, a select group of businessmen and women, as well as influential mission leaders, gathered around a single motivation: to reach 4.8 billion Asians by 2033. To fund this mission, they want to raise $1 billion a year over the next eight years until 2033.

Through JC2033, my dream is for the world to know that Jesus is Risen. Only by joining forces with Christians of all nations can we achieve this. It's with the aim of seeing this dream come true that I've come to this world evangelization conference.

The SG500 conference follows a prayer movement for Asia's 500 largest cities. On site, the moments of prayer and praise were extremely powerful. The wide-ranging speeches were imbued with both wisdom and boldness. A special effort was made to connect the various participants. At every break and meal, I'm humbled to realize the calibre of the participants at this SG500 event.

Rendezvous of grace

One of my most memorable encounters was with So-Young, a businesswoman who has developed a micro-communication concept. Over lunch, she shared with me the objective of her smartphone application: to divide the information to be shared into small modules, so that the target audience can integrate key information in a fun way and in a short time.

I then shared with her our difficulty in seeing JC2033 Ambassadors present at our quarterly Zoom training sessions. In a few sentences, So-Young convinced me to use her application to certify the hundreds of JC2033 Ambassadors in the making. The app would enable an ambassador to understand the essentials of JC2033 and the framework of his or her involvement in just a few minutes. The app would then transmit clear and motivating information to the people and Christian leaders the ambassadors meet in their own countries.

We are in the testing phase and hope to have the app up and running by the JC2033 world meeting in February 2025.

The logistics of my time in Singapore are partly taken care of by Joël Tan, one of the JC2033 Ambassadors, who welcomes me into his home. It means a lot to me. He picked me up at the airport and treated me to local specialities, always accompanied by in-depth discussions.

Joël Tan invited fifteen of his friends to his home for a potluck dinner, where I recounted some of the key moments in my faith journey. It was a great moment of fellowship, and most of them left with stars in their eyes! God is doing marvelous work here, in the times in which we live.

Another memorable encounter was with Alan G., a 65-year-old businessman. He asked if I could meet his 93-year-old mother to share with her what we're doing to prepare for the 2000th anniversary celebrations of Jesus' Resurrection. The program is very tight. A few hours before boarding my overnight flight to Korea, I arrived at their luxury apartment in the heart of Singapore.

Alan, his mother May and his sister Pauline were very attentive when I shared how I was called to this mission for the 2000 years of the Resurrection and how plans are developing. I offered them my book and a Risen jewel  depicting the open tomb, the stone and the empty cross.

A few hours later, having already landed in South Korea in the early hours of the morning, Alan wrote to tell me that his family would like to make a modest investment in the JC2033 project. To be continued....

Then the world will know that Jesus is Risen... the road to 2033 is getting clearer, thank you Lord!

Prepare for the 2000 years of the Resurrection. It's possible now!
