From the 23rd to 30th of March 2019, Olivier Fleury and Martin Hoegger made about twenty visits to church leaders and communities in Egypt. The welcome was warm and sometimes even enthusiastic.
Here is the chronicle of this amazing stay written by Martin Hoegger.
Our story with Jesus Celebration 2033 began in July of 2011 in Kona, Hawaii at a Youth With A Mission (YWAM) leadership conference called Impartation. I was a participant along with Olivier and Sylviane. They invited me over for lunch and Olivier shared the vision of Jesus Celebration 2033 (still 2030 at that time). The Holy Spirit gave me a deep sense of connection to the vision and to the Fleury family. I shared with Olivier that I knew I would be a part of it, but I didn’t know exactly what that would look like.
On the 17th May, at the Arzillier, the "House of Dialogue" in Lausanne, twelve representatives assembled of various churches to reflect on the link between this project and the churches. They decided to call themselves "Working Group 2033".According to the model used during the "Francophone Christian Forum" in Lyon last October, the participants first shared, in a few minutes, a little of their journey with Jesus Christ.
Olivier Fleury, president of "Jesus Celebration 2033", and his wife Sylviane were invited to participate in the Easter celebrations in the Orthodox Church in Constantinople / Istanbul. On Good Friday, following the morning liturgy (over three hours long), a private audience with Patriarch Bartholomew was scheduled. Here is the story of this meeting.
